You would think that you could discard just about anything inside a dumpster – that couldn’t be further from the truth!
What you can put in your dumpster may vary according to your state.
Express Recycling and Sanitation is here to answer any of your concerns when it comes to dumpster rental in New Jersey and exactly what materials are and are not permitted. Contact us to find out more.
Understanding the regulations in your city is very important. It is also vitally important that you understand the items you can get rid of as well as other materials that are not. Items that are not approved are based upon your location so before you rent a dumpster in New Jersey, please familiarize yourself with the rules:
What isn’t allowed:
- Overweight or cumbersome items are commonly prohibited.
- Things that will not break down in time – not biodegradable.
There are other things that must not be disposed of into a dumpster because whenever the dumpster is unloaded into a landfill, the harmful chemicals will ooze into the ground and negatively affect the environment.
These items shouldn’t be disposed of as they can also cause harm to others at the same time.
- Products that need to have electricity
- Toxic chemicals
- Gas containers
- Auto tires
Most household items can be put into dumpsters. A few examples of items that can be put into dumpsters are wood, plaster tiles, styrofoam, drywall, shingles. These materials are not dangerous, but should be put in a dumpster in order to avoid any injuries.
Dirt can be put into dumpsters, but it cannot contain any turf or contaminants.
Concrete may be put into dumpsters, but that is all, putting things such as bricks, ceramics, or asphalt is not allowed. If you do put concrete into your dumpster make sure that you don’t go over the weight limit of the dumpsters. Concrete is a very heavy material and can put you over your weight very easily, causing you to get unneeded bills.
